Funny your not the first to mentioned that. This was not meant to be a published image rather something for fun, however I may have to take a look and see what I can do with it. Thank you for you comments.

I love the way you have manipulated this beautiful image-just wondering if you have considered adding a reflection of the moon to the water too-or am I missing something?

I think your correct Jeff - the usage of HD is limiting for the time being and certainly it can be overdone making the viewer want to wrinkle their nose.

I think that HDR has it's place and can be useful so long as it's not "overdone" to end up looking like video game graphics. Doing a google image search for "HDR photography" reveals images ranging from those that hurt my eyes to look at, to those that I would frame and put on my wall. Just as with any other image altering technique (e.g. burning, dodging, filtering, etc) there is a line somewhere that when crossed will kill the viewers belief in the "realness" of an image. This belief in the "realness" of a photograph is essential to creating an emotional connection between it and the viewer.

You're experiment validates what I've been learning in my "color " class. Colors should be bolder in graphics for web or digital media. So those who see the print in front of them will prefer more muted tones. Basically, good choice for sepia for the printed version that will hang on walls. But if you're going to put it on the web, TV or tcother such media, the colored version may fair better. Found this to be interesting.
